Videos beyond 4K will be delivered using the HEVC (H.265) video codec. Since support for HEVC playback only exists for newer generation devices and platforms, you’ll need to view them from specific hardware and software to view video qualities beyond 4K (e.g 5K, 6K, 8K). Note that we will only generate a 5-8K transcode if the creator uploaded it as an HDR video that has greater than 5K resolution.

The following viewing environments are not currently supported for playback above 4K:

💡Tip: For best results, TVs should be using the highest possible stream quality.
If the content owner enables downloading, all playback versions will be available for download on desktop (in all browsers). To view it on your computer, you’ll need to use a player that supports HEVC playback. We recommend using the latest version of VLC media player.
