Starting in the Fall of 2022, recurring and one-time events have been merged into one new workflow to simplify and improve streaming. You will be able to both stream repeatedly to an event and display the archive without changing the embed code or URL.
You can test this new streamlined event type by creating a recurring event (click here to create one now).

How is Vimeo combining the two event types?
The new combined event workflow is built based on recurring events with key features of one-time events added to them for parity.
How will I know when the combined event workflow is released?
You will get an email and in-product notification in advance before the change will apply to your account. While your transition to combined events should be straightforward, we’ve noted below a few situations in which you may need to change your workflow in order to adapt to combined events.
How do I display an archived event without changing my embed code?
Classic one-time events automatically display an archived event under the same link and embed code as the original event. To access the same feature for combined (or recurring) events, you need to enable Show latest video. See the instructions below:
- Go to Live events.
- Select a recurring event.
- Click the Appearance tab.
-
Under the "pre-live" section, toggle on Show latest video.
How do I collect viewer information on new events?
While combined events don’t offer the ability to add a contact form, you can use a webinar instead to access this feature. Learn more at Create and configure a webinar
I can’t find my new events in my encoder.
If you can’t find your event in your encoder’s Vimeo integration, or your current integration can only create classic one-time events, you can use the RTMP stream key to stream to your event.
The third-party website I embed events on won’t accept my event’s URL.
If the website you’re working with won’t function with a combined event URL, try pasting the full event URL (e.g. https://vimeo.com/event/12345) into your website instead of just the event ID (e.g. 12345).
If that doesn’t help, please contact us to let us know. Our team will reach out to the third-party platform and request that they update their integration with Vimeo.
