Teams that use Asana to collaborate can use video messaging powered by Vimeo Record to add visual context to shared projects. Vimeo Record allows you to record your screen and/or camera with audio to help asynchronously communicate with your team in a more engaging and effective way.
Additionally, our integration with Asana allows teams to embed videos from Vimeo into their project briefs, task comments, and task descriptions by pasting the link to your Vimeo video.
See the Asana hub page to learn more about this integration.
Connecting your Vimeo account to Asana
As an Asana user, you can record up to two videos from within Asana without logging into Vimeo. After two recordings, you will be required to sign up for a Vimeo account or log into an existing account to continue using Vimeo Record in Asana.
If you run into issues or have any questions about using Vimeo Record on Asana, please contact Vimeo Support.

Navigate to any project task within Asana and you will find a Record button. Click the Record button to configure if you want to record your screen, camera, or both, and then start your recording. All video recordings will take place within Asana. After you add two recordings, you will be prompted to log into Vimeo or create a new account to continue using the integration.

Embed videos on Asana
While using Asana, you can paste a URL to display a video on Vimeo in these sections:
- Task description
- Task comment
- Product brief (go to project > overview > key resources > brief)
You can also add a Vimeo URL that will unfurl in these areas by selecting the plus sign (+) menu, selecting video, and then entering the video URL.
