Features available on the iOS app
You can view your feed, like videos, comment on videos, find and follow other members, just like on the desktop site. You can also play from your Watch Later list, Channels, or Showcases, as well as edit video Settings, download videos for offline playback, and share videos via email and social networks.
For anything else (Groups, Portfolios, Team member access, etc.), you'll need to visit the desktop version of Vimeo.
Watching videos on the app
To watch videos from your Watch Later queue or your On Demand purchases, click the bookmark-shaped button in the middle on the bottom. This will open up your library, and you'll be able to navigate to either queue by selecting "Watch Later" or "Purchases" at the top of the page.
Managing push notifications
Tap "Me," then tap the Settings icon in the top right-hand corner, and tap Notifications. We promise to never spam you with notifications. Pinky swear.
Tap the Upload button in the navigation bar, select a video from your device’s Camera Roll, and tap "Upload." That’s it! You can then add a title and description and tweak your privacy settings, or you can chill and edit those settings later.
Once your video is uploaded, it’ll take a few moments for us to finish up and prepare your video for online delivery. There are many variables that can affect the amount of time it takes to upload and convert a video, including your bandwidth, the duration of the video, the visual complexity of the video, and planetary alignment. Connect your device to Wi-Fi get your video online as soon as possible, and our mobile app will take care of the rest!
In addition to uploading videos already stored on your mobile device, you can also record videos and save them to your Vimeo account directly via the Vimeo app.
In the bottom navigation, tap the Add icon, then select Record. You will need to give your device permission to access your camera and microphone in order for this feature to work. Once you do so, your camera will open and you will see a red record button along with a few settings.
In the camera settings menu, you can adjust the following:
- Sound - mute/un-mute your phone's microphone (it’s un-muted by default)
- Light - use your phone's flashlight, which is handy if you are in a dark environment. It’s turned off by default.
- Grid - show a grid to help frame the shot (default = off); note that this grid does not appear in the recording itself
- Filter - choose among numerous camera filters to change the appearance of your shot (e.g. black & white, sepia) (default = normal)
You can also switch between using the rear-facing camera (default) or using the front-facing camera.
When you are ready to start recording, tap the red Record button. Your camera will start recording immediately. The various camera settings will still be accessible while you are recording.
Tap the red square icon to stop recording. The video will automatically start uploading to your Vimeo account. You will be prompted to view it directly in the app or you can visit your video manager on desktop.

Downloading videos for offline playback
When viewing a feed of videos, tap the ellipsis next to the video you want to download and tap “Make Available Offline.” Your video will begin downloading to your device, and you’ll see a progress bar appear. Once the download has completed, you can find it under the Offline tab of your Playlists.
You can also download a video while in the player view by tapping the Download icon (ꜜ), Downloaded videos are only available for playback within the Vimeo app, and cannot be accessed by other apps.
To remove a downloaded video, go to the Offline tab of your library, tap the ellipsis, and then tap “Remove from Offline Playlist.” Videos can also be removed while in the Player view by tapping the blue Download icon.
Please note that if a video is replaced, it must be downloaded again in order for the in-app player to reflect the latest version. If you are seeing an older version of your video in the Vimeo app, please try removing and re-adding the video to your offline playlist.
💡 Tip: By default, a lower quality playback version will be saved for offline playback in the app. If you prefer to save a higher quality version of your video, go to your Profile in the app, tap on the Settings gear, and enable “Allow HD downloads" (make sure your device has enough storage first!) We also recommend enabling the “Download only via WiFi” setting as HD files tend to be quite large.
When viewing a feed of videos, tap the ellipsis and tap Share. You can share a link to the video through Facebook, Twitter, email, SMS/messaging, and any other platform you have set up to share on your device.
If you’re watching a video and want to share it, tap the Share icon to bring up that same menu.
Airplay a video to Apple TV
With your device connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV, start playing a video and tap the AirPlay icon in the lower right-hand corner of the player. Just like that, your selected video will begin playing on your TV!
Cast a video to Chromecast
With your device connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast, start playing a video and tap the Chromecast icon in the lower right-hand corner of the player. In mere moments, your selected video will begin playing on your TV. You can continue browsing Vimeo on your device while your video plays, and control playback on your TV using the Chromecast controls at the bottom of the app.

Logging out of the iOS app
To log out of your Vimeo account, tap "Me," tap the Settings icon, and select "Log out" at the bottom.
