When you create a live event on Vimeo, you have the option to use an external encoder or use a webcam, which is our browser-based encoder.
When you select the Webcam tab on the live setup page, you have the option to use a built-in or USB webcam and attached microphone. However, you can also connect external hardware like capture cards and audio devices for a more professional look and have them working right within the browser.
On the live preview page, select the Webcam tab (it will likely be selected by default). In the upper right corner of the preview player, click the Webcam settings button to change which video and audio source you use for your stream.
