You can connect your Vimeo account to Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, using Vimeo MCP Server. Once connected, you can ask Claude to search your videos, pull analytics, manage showcases, check comments, get transcripts, and more — all using plain-language prompts.
This article discusses how to connect your Vimeo account to Claude.
To connect Vimeo to Claude:
- Open Claude and go to your connector settings.
- Choose to add a custom connector.
- Enter the following URL when prompted: https://mcp.vimeo.com/mcp
- Name the connector (we recommend "Vimeo").
- Save the connector, then start a new chat.
- In Claude's tools menu, make sure the Vimeo connector is turned on.
Your chats with Claude can now include requests about your Vimeo videos and account.
⚠️ Note: If the Vimeo connector doesn't appear in Claude's tools menu after setup, double-check the connector URL and try reconnecting.
If you manage a Vimeo team, your team members can also connect to Vimeo MCP Server. You can manage what data and features they can access from the connector's settings in their own Claude account.
What can you do with Claude and Vimeo connected?
Once connected, you can ask Claude things like:
- "Find all my videos tagged 'Q3 launch' and show their analytics."
- "Where do viewers drop off in my onboarding video?"
- "Create a new showcase called 'Customer Stories' with the dark theme."
- "Show me the comments on my latest video."

Note: For safety, Claude can't perform destructive actions like deleting videos through the connector.
