When you create a virtual event on Vimeo, you have the option to use an external encoder or use our web-based production tool. When you use the browser encoder, you have the option to use a built-in or USB webcam and attached microphone. However, you can also connect external hardware like capture cards and audio devices for a more professional look and have them working right within the browser.

How to access the web-based production tool
If you create a recurring event, you can access the web-based production tool by selecting Stream with Vimeo. Once you are on the broadcaster page, you can change your video and audio source by clicking the gear wheel to the right of the live production.
