Users trying to stream to Facebook using the Livestream Studio desktop app may encounter an issue that prevents them from doing so. This article provides workaround solutions.
While the direct integration with the Livestream Studio desktop app is unavailable, you can stream to Facebook from Livestream Studio using one of the two workarounds below:
Option 1: Stream via RTMP
You can stream directly from Studio to Facebook by obtaining your RTMP credentials from Facebook and entering them into Studio.
To do so:
- Follow Facebook's instructions for going live on Facebook using streaming software to obtain a Server URL and Stream Key.
- In Livestream Studio, navigate to the Streaming tab and select Custom RTMP.
- Enter the RTMP URL and Stream Key provided by Facebook into the appropriate fields.
- Once configured, you can go live from Studio to stream to Facebook..

Option 2: Simulcast a Vimeo Event to Facebook
This workaround involves streaming from Studio to a Vimeo event, which then simulcasts the stream to Facebook.
To simulcast a Vimeo event to Facebook, you have two options: a direct integration or using RTMP.
- A direct integration connects your Vimeo and Facebook accounts, allowing you to stream to your Facebook profile or any page where you're an Admin.
- Facebook lists guidelines for pages that have streaming capabilities. Read more from Facebook’s Help Center at How to Go Live on Facebook from PC for Businesses
- Streaming with RTMP involves obtaining the RTMP URL and stream key from your Facebook destination and adding them to the settings of your Vimeo event. Read more at How to simulcast my Vimeo event to Facebook.
