This feature requires an Enterprise plan with Vimeo Central or Streaming.
As an Enterprise account Owner, Admin, or Contributor, you can integrate Vimeo content with your Learning Management System (LMS) by downloading ZIP files that can be imported into your SCORM-compliant LMS. This article covers configuring default e-learning settings and integrating SCORM packages with your LMS. It also provides an overview of how learners can interact with Vimeo content within your LMS.
In this article:
- How to configure default LMS settings
- How to integrate videos with your LMS using SCORM
- How can learners access Vimeo content within my LMS?
How to configure default LMS settings
Follow these steps to configure default e-learning settings for your account.
- Navigate to your team settings page and scroll down to find E-learning.
- Now, you can view and configure default settings using these options:
-
Learner management: View the learner IDs that have been passed to Vimeo from your LMS
- Learner IDs are the IDs that your LMS uses to track your users, and they are shared with Vimeo from your SCORM packages. However, if you choose to gate your videos behind SSO, Vimeo will associate the learner IDs with the corresponding Vimeo users.
-
Technical standard: Choose which e-learning standard you would like to use as your default. Vimeo can support:
- SCORM 1.2
- SCORM 2004 v3
- xAPI (Tin Can)
- AICC
- cmi5
-
Scoring method: Choose a default method to calculate the score. Vimeo can support:
- Percentage watched - score is equal to the percentage of the video watched
- Pass/fail - score is 100% if the user watches beyond the completion threshold, or score is 0% if the user watches less than the completion threshold
- Completion percentage threshold (%): Choose a default percentage of a video to consider the video completely watched.

How to integrate videos with your LMS using SCORM
After configuring LMS settings, you can export ZIP files for individual videos, which can then be imported into your LMS.
- Navigate to the video settings page by selecting a video from your library.
- Select the Share dropdown menu and choose Export to LMS.
- Configure your settings as prompted and then select Download to save the ZIP file to your device.
- Now you can upload the ZIP file from Vimeo into your LMS course.
- Publish your course. The Vimeo content within the ZIP file will be accessible within the course.
- As learners interact with your course, results will be stored and analyzed in the LMS course.
How can learners access Vimeo content within my LMS?
Here is how learners can interact with Vimeo content inside the LMS:
- First, they will log in to the LMS.
- Once they access an assignment containing a Vimeo video, they can watch the video and interact with any other features inside the video player.
- At this point, viewing activity is logged and a numeric grade is calculated based on the implemented algorithm and sent to the LMS gradebook.
Note: Assignment resubmission is controlled by the LMS. An LMS can allow multiple attempts per lesson, but Vimeo will only allow one score per attempt. - The learner can review their score in the LMS gradebook.
