What to know before viewing or downloading a transcript
Before viewing or downloading a transcript, make sure you know the following:
- You must have edit access to the video to view or download its transcript.
- Transcripts are available only for videos with captions or subtitles uploaded or auto-generated.
- Transcripts can be downloaded in a text file format for offline viewing or editing.
How to view my video's transcript
You can view the video’s transcript from the Languages section of the video settings page. To view a transcript:
- Select the video in your Library to open the video settings page.
- In the left-hand navigation, select Languages.
- Select the three vertical dots (⋮) overflow menu to the right of the transcript.
- Select the pencil icon to view or edit the transcript.
How to download my video's transcript
To download your transcript:
- Select the video you’d like to download the transcription for.
- In the left-hand navigation, select Languages.
- Select the three vertical dots (⋮) overflow menu to the right of the transcript.
- Select Download.
The captions will download as a text file, which you can edit as needed using any text editor.
What happens if I can’t see the transcript?
Here are some possible reasons for not being able to view the transcript:
- The video may not have captions or subtitles added yet.
- You may not have permission to edit or view the video’s settings.
- Try refreshing the page or checking with your team admin if you don’t see the Languages option.
