Overview of supported TV apps
You can watch Vimeo videos on your TV in multiple ways. To do so:
- The Vimeo Android app, the Vimeo iOS app, or a compatible browser supports casting to your television via Apple AirPlay and Google Chromecast.
- If you have an Apple TV running tvOS 18 or later, you can use the Vimeo app for Apple TV.
Overview of unsupported TV apps
On June 27, 2023, we discontinued support for some Vimeo TV apps. There will not be any new releases or security updates for them. They were removed from the app stores, and we will not provide technical support for them.
This includes the Vimeo apps on the following TV platforms:
- Android TV
- Amazon Fire TV/Amazon Fire TV Stick
- Roku
This change does not apply to branded apps available to Vimeo OTT Enterprise sellers or to the Vimeo Apple TV App. This applies specifically to the Vimeo TV app on the platforms listed above.
Why did you end support for some TV apps?
Occasionally, we retire legacy products and features that no longer meet our standards. We believe that our users looking to view Vimeo videos on their TVs will have a better ongoing experience using the methods listed above.
