You can cast videos to your Apple AirPlay or Google Chromecast-equipped TV or TV device by using the Vimeo app for iPhone, iPad, or Android mobile devices. Chromecast is also supported in embedded players in web browsers.
Note that video creators can disable casting for their videos. Learn more at 'Why is the Chromecast or Airplay button missing?'.
In this article, learn how to cast videos using:
AirPlay
To AirPlay a video to an Apple TV or other AirPlay-capable device using the Vimeo app for iOS:
- Start playing a video in the Vimeo iOS app.
- Select the AirPlay icon in the bottom-right corner of the video.
- Select the device that you'd like to view the video on to cast to that device.
Viewers can also AirPlay videos from the Safari browser on macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. To do so, select the AirPlay icon in the Vimeo Player and select your preferred device.

Chromecast
To cast a video to a Google Chromecast device, or a device with Chromecast built-in:
- Start playing a video in the Vimeo app for Android
- Select the Chromecast icon in the bottom-right of the video.
- Select the device that you'd like to view the video on to cast to that device.

⚠️Note: Chromecast’s default setup will experience difficulty playing HLS playlists on some devices.
