Analytics overview
Your account’s analytics information is now also available via the Vimeo iOS mobile app. The app now provides an overview of your video’s performance within the time frame that you have selected, with a breakdown of ‘Views’, ‘Impressions’, ‘View Rate’, ‘Likes’, and ‘Views by URL’.
You can view this Analytics section on your iOS mobile app by tapping the ‘Analytics’ tab on the bottom menu of your screen:
Once in the Analytics section, you can view the report by scrolling down on your iOS mobile device:
Video-specific Analytics
To view the analytics for one of your videos, tap the [•••] menu next to the video you want to view and tap Analytics. Creators can see the video’s Views, Impressions, View rate, Vimeo Likes, and Views by URL for the past 30 days.
Save to Camera Roll
Creators can download and save their own videos to their device’s Camera Roll. To do so, tap the [•••] menu next to the video you want to download, tap Save to Camera Roll, and select your desired video resolution.
Only transcoded files for videos on your own account can be downloaded. Original source files are not available for download.
Publishing to Social
Creators can publish their videos to Facebook Pages or their YouTube accounts. To do so, tap the [•••] menu next to the video you want to publish, then tap Share > Publish to social, and select the platform where you want your video published.
Uploading and Trimming
Creators can upload videos from their device’s Camera Roll using the iOS app. To do so, tap the (+) icon in the navigation bar, select the video you want to upload, trim the video’s beginning or end if desired, tap Next or Skip, add a name or description, select the video’s privacy settings, and tap Upload.
For a quick and reliable upload, keep the app active and in the foreground while connected to Wi-Fi.
Recording
Creators can record video directly within the Vimeo app. To do so, tap the (+) icon in the navigation bar, tap the Record tab, hold your device horizontally or vertically as desired, and tap the Record button when ready. Tap the record button again when you’re finished.
WARNING: When recording with the app, upon completion your video is uploaded directly to Vimeo, the video will not be saved to your device’s Camera Roll. If your device has an unreliable internet connection, or if you want to be extra cautious in case anything happens during recording or uploading, we strongly recommend using the default Camera app to record and save videos to your Camera Roll, then use the Vimeo app to upload.
In addition to recording with your camera, the Vimeo iOS app also includes the ability to record your iOS device’s screen. Tap the (+) icon and select Record screen.
You will see a brief tutorial first; swipe through the screens or tap Start recording to go to the record screen. You can choose whether to keep your microphone on or off by tapping the microphone icon toward the bottom of the screen. Tap Start Broadcast and after a short countdown, your screen will begin recording.
A red dot will appear at the top of your device’s screen while you are recording (iPhone 8 and older will see a red bar); tap it to end your recording. You can then go back to the Vimeo app to access, edit, and upload your recording to your Vimeo account.
It’s currently not possible to record both your device’s camera and screen simultaneously due to iOS system limitations.
Live Streaming
Vimeo Premium and Enterprise users can live stream directly from the iOS app, no other equipment required! Learn more about going live from your mobile device here.
Showcases
Creators can access their Showcases within the app by tapping Home on the navigation bar and scrolling down to Showcases. From there, users can view and edit existing Showcases, and create new Showcases. You can also view your Showcases by tapping on the ‘Showcases’ tab at the top of your screen:
While viewing your Showcases, you can click on the three horizontal dots to the right of the Showcase to make adjustments to your Showcase and view/update your settings:
Folder management
Creators can view recently created Folders by tapping Home on the navigation bar and tapping View all next to Recent videos. From there, you can edit your Folder’s settings by tapping on the three horizontal dots next to a folder and making adjustments from the settings menu that pops up:
You can also add a video to a folder by tapping on the three horizontal dots next to a video, and tapping the ‘Move to folder’ option, which will display a list of your Folders to choose from:
Teams on Mobile
Team owners and team members can now make changes to the videos they have permission to view on the iOS app.
Tap your profile icon in the upper right corner to find the team switcher. Open the team switcher to display the teams you’re a part of on Vimeo, then tap on the team account you wish to switch into.
Tapping a team’s name in the switcher will switch you out of your account and into the team account, displaying the videos you have permission to view and edit on the team account.
You can adjust your team members' roles by first tapping on your avatar in the top right corner of your screen, then tapping on Manage Team. Learn more about team member types and permissions.
In the Manage Team menu, tapping on (•••) to the right of a team member’s name will provide you with the option to change a team member’s role, or remove them from the team.
Review Notes
Team owners and team members can also leave time-coded review notes on videos via the app. After toggling to the comments tab on the clip, you'll see an option to add a public comment or a review note.
Those with review access can reply to a time-coded note, share the review link, share the video file, save the video to their camera roll, and hide any resolved notes. You'll also have the option to edit or delete your comment.
Creating Videos
You can create and edit videos on your mobile device in the Vimeo app for iOS. Learn more at 'How do I make a new video in the Vimeo mobile apps?'
Cameo
Cameo was a mobile video creation and editing tool provided by Vimeo that was discontinued in February 2020. Users looking for similar functionality to Cameo should check out Magisto, a smart video editor that lets creators turn clips and photos into inspired video stories, and share them on Vimeo and across social media.
