This feature requires a paid Vimeo membership.
Using custom URLs can help brand and organize your content. This guide will show you how to create a custom URL to share with your viewers. Please note that on mobile devices, shared custom URLs will open in a mobile web browser rather than the Vimeo app.
In this article:
Create a custom URL
- Select the video from your Library.
-
Select the Share button in the upper right-hand corner of the video settings page.
-
At the bottom of the modal that appears, select Customize.
- In the field labeled Customize, enter the desired custom URL for your video, consisting of only letters or numbers. You will need to add the custom portion after your username.
- Select the Copy link button to copy the custom link to your clipboard.
💡Tip: The format of custom video URLs is vimeo.com/username/thecustompart. For example, a video on our staff account about the Vimeo player has the custom URL: vimeo.com/staff/player.
Privacy settings for custom URLs
For custom URLs to work, your video must have one of the following privacy settings:
- Unlisted or Hide from Vimeo
- Share with Password
- Private
- Public
⚠️Note: If you are a Basic or Free user, you do not have access to create new custom URLs or to edit previously existing ones. Instead, you will be prompted to upgrade your account to access this feature.
