As an account Owner or team member, you can manage comments from the video settings page. Read on to learn more about the difference between Viewer and Collaborator comments and how to navigate and review both types of comments. What are the differences between Viewer and Collaborator comments?
As a video owner or team member, you will see two tabs within the video settings page comments panel: Collaborators and Viewers. See below for the main differences between these types of comments:
- Viewer comments are shown on the video page and within the Viewer tab on the video settings page. Comments within the Collaborators tab are not shown on the video page.
- Unlike Viewer comments, Collaborator comments cannot be disabled.
- To access Collaborator comments, you must have can manage or can edit permission to the video or have access to a Review link. Anyone with the video link can leave a Viewer comment as long as Viewer comments are enabled.
How to navigate comments on the video settings page
From the video settings page, you can view both viewer and collaboration comments. Read on for an overview of how to filter and search comments:

View viewer comments: To see all comments from the video page, navigate to the Viewers tab.
- Search comments: Use the magnifying glass icon at the top of the panel to search comments by keyword or name.

Filter by team or replies: Select the filter icon to choose whether to see all comments, those left by your team or guests, or to see only replies and mentions that may need your attention.

Sort options: You can also sort by newest, oldest, or in order by timecodes referenced in comments.
- Disable viewer comments: You can disable viewer comments from the gear icon. See How to change commenting permissions on my video [new version] for more information.

Unfurl links: If a comment contains a Vimeo video, you can view it here or open it on a new page.
How to resolve a comment
If you’re an Enterprise team owner or a Contributor or Admin team member on an Enterprise team, you can resolve comments left on a video.
- Hover over a comment and select the circle icon to resolve a comment.
⚠️Note: If the comment has additional direct replies, resolving the initial comment will also resolve all of the replies. Your viewers can toggle on the option to see any resolved comments, but they won’t be able to interact with them. - You can select the eye icon at the top of the panel to show all previously resolved comments.
How to download comments
Downloading comments is available on the video settings page.
Select the gear icon and then Download as… to download all comments or only Collaborator or Viewer comments.
