There are two ways to edit the player appearance settings for your videos. You can edit the embedded settings for an individual video via the video settings page, which can be found by selecting the Appearance icon on the left side of the screen. You can also create embed presets and apply those to multiple videos. Embed presets customize the appearance and behavior of the video player when embedded on other websites.
Any time you change the custom embed options for a particular video, it will automatically update on sites where it has already been embedded.

How to apply embed presets
Follow the steps below to access embed presets from the video settings page. You can also create and manage presets from the Videos tab in your Account settings.
-
After selecting a video from your library, select the Appearance icon from the left-side panel of the video settings page. Ensure you are on the Embed tab of the Appearance panel.
- Select the Embed preset dropdown to add new presets. Presets allow you to apply the same appearance settings and end screen to multiple videos.
- Select Manage presets to add new presets or manage previously created presets.
-
If you would like to delete a preset, select the Manage presets button under the dropdown to open the Embed presets page within account settings. Select the 'X' icon next to the title of the preset.
What customization options are available for the embedded player?
See below for a high-level overview of customization options for the embedded player.
Branding
To learn more about custom branding colors, refer to ‘How to apply custom branding colors'.
Engagement
You can choose to hide or display engagement icons on the embedded player.
- On the left-hand panel select Appearance.
- Scroll down to Engagement to find Like, Watch Later, Share, and Embed buttons.
- You can toggle each of these on and off as desired, including whether the Share button includes the embed code in the lightbox that appears when a viewer selects it.
⚠️Note: There is no way to include the video download button on the embedded player; this is only accessible from the video page on vimeo.com.
Details
You have the choice to show or hide your profile picture, title, and/or byline when the embedded video player first loads. You can enable or disable these toggles in the Details section of the Appearance panel.
Play button location and controls
To customize the play button location and other video controls, see 'How to customize the play button and controls on the player?'.
Interactivity
Interaction tools––end screens, contact forms, chapters, and cards––help you connect with your viewers and can help drive engagement and conversions. These will appear in both the embedded player and the video page. To add these to your video, select your video from the library and open the Interactivity tab on the right side.
Small embedded players
If your embedded video is less than 375px wide, some elements on the playbar will be hidden within an expandable menu.
Select the arrow icon on the player to access volume controls, captions and subtitle options, playback speed controls, picture-in-picture, and fullscreen mode.
⚠️Note: If your webpage is using a responsive design, the embedded player may automatically adhere to a smaller size on mobile. Some end screens will not appear if the player is smaller than 300px wide or 169px tall.
Third-party players
Vimeo’s embed and privacy settings only apply to the embedded Vimeo player. If you’re a Vimeo Business or Pro member using third-party player links, Vimeo’s embed customizations will not apply. However, the third-party player might support its own set of customizations — check out their support documentation for more info.
