As an ad-free platform, we do not monetize plays of video content, so we have no revenue stream tied to video views to offer the music rights holders when a video is uploaded with unauthorized copyrighted material.
We are sensitive to the impact this can have on creators and are actively exploring ways to better support our community and ultimately enable creators to easily license music for their work in the future.
For the time being, creators should continue to ensure that they have all the necessary rights and permissions before they upload a video and that the older videos don’t contain unauthorized copyrighted material. As an alternative, creators can use Vimeo to make and edit videos, which includes a library with a wide range of licensed music to choose from.
