Adding the Transcript view to the embedded player enhances the user experience and helps find relevant sections within a video. This feature allows you to have a comprehensive overview of the video's content, making it easier to identify specific sections you want to explore. It helps scan through the transcript, identify keywords or phrases, and jump directly to the corresponding moments in the video. This saves you the effort of manually seeking through the video or watching the entire thing.
If you are creating a video and want to know more about how transcripts/closed captions (cc) work, refer to Captions and subtitles and How to use the text-based video editor articles.
How to use Transcript View for embedded player
To use the transcript view:
- Click on the captions icon on the player
- Use the Transcript Panel with the Transcript Search to find and follow along as the video plays.
This applies to all the videos that have transcripts created from both auto CC and uploaded captions. If a CC track is disabled by the video owner, the associated transcript will also be disabled as a result.
Overall, the addition of Transcript View to the embedded player enhances the accessibility and usability of videos.
