If your video contains audio with spoken English, you can use the text-based editing feature with the trimmer to edit your video in the the Vimeo Android app or the Vimeo iOS app. Here, you can remove filler words such as 'ums and uhs', word gaps with no sound, and any other selection of individual words or longer sections of footage containing speech.
To use the text-based video editor:
- From the homescreen, select the Library button to view your video library.
- Select the video that you would like to use the text-based video editor with.
- Select Edit Video.
- Select Text-based editor.
- A transcript of the speech in your video will be generated.
- Double tap a word in the transcript to select it. The word will be highlighted when selected.
- If you would like to delete the single word that is selected, select Delete
- If you would like to select multiple words, select and drag the handles until all words that you would like to delete are highlighted.
- Select Delete to delete the unwanted word(s).
- After selecting Delete the word will be removed from your video.
- Select Save to save your video.
You can also use the text-based video editor to remove pauses, gaps, and portions with no sound from your video.
Portions without sounds will be represented in your transcript by a dot (●). You can select the dot (or series of dot) that you would like to remove from your video, similar to selecting words. Select Delete to remove these gaps from your video.
Show/Hide Deleted Words
Select the Show deleted words button to show or hide which words have been deleted from your video. It will also show much time is removed from your video when removing portions without sound.
AI editing
Select the AI editing button to use AI to detect gaps and filler words to remove in bulk. You can select whether the gaps and filler words should be removed.
Search transcript
Use the Search transcript button to search your transcript for specific words.
