When is the migration from Livestream to Vimeo going to happen?
We will be removing Livestream capabilities as of January 2025. Here are some dates to keep in mind based on the type of plan you have:
- If you are on an annual Livestream subscription or contract: As of December 31, 2023, your annual subscription will not be eligible for renewal. Your existing access will remain uninterrupted until your renewal date. If you would like to change to a monthly plan, you can do so within the Livestream product itself, up until November 30, 2024.
- If you are on a monthly Livestream subscription: As of November 30, 2024, your monthly subscription will not be eligible for renewal.
- In order for all your video content to be safely migrated over to Vimeo, you will need to transfer your videos within 30 days of your Livestream subscription or contract expiration.
How do I start the process of migrating from Livestream to Vimeo?
If you have an Enterprise or Custom account on either platform, contact your account manager for assistance with migrating your account and videos from Livestream to Vimeo.
If you are moving from Livestream Basic or Livestream Premium to Vimeo Advanced, contact our Customer Support team, who will work with you to help get your videos over from Livestream to Vimeo and ensure a smooth billing transition.
Please note that we cannot guarantee that every video will transfer, and the transfer can take up to five days to complete.
Can I cancel billing on Livestream before purchasing a Vimeo plan? Do I have to pay for both?
We recommend you complete your account migration, including replacing any video embeds, from Livestream to Vimeo before canceling your Livestream renewal.
When you cancel your Livestream plan, your videos on Livestream will be deleted and unrecoverable 30 days after cancellation. We will work with you to ensure a smooth billing transition from Livestream to Vimeo as part of the migration process.
Does Vimeo have the same features as my Livestream account?

- Host webinars with attendee registration, branded and automated emails, CRM & marketing integrations, and more.
- Customize, brand, and add chapters to your Vimeo player
- Access Vimeo’s suite of video creation, editing, and management tools in order to perfect and amplify your live broadcast
Will my event pages, upcoming events, or drafts be migrated to Vimeo?
While posted videos on your Livestream account can be copied over to your Vimeo account, it’s not possible to migrate event pages, event page settings including event privacy settings, scheduled events that have not yet happened, or draft videos. You should create new events on your Vimeo account for future events.
Some videos on my Livestream account are on hidden or password-protected event pages. Will they retain similar privacy settings on Vimeo?
All videos on your Livestream account that are copied over to Vimeo will be set to Private. Learn how to update video privacy settings on Vimeo.
If I migrate to Vimeo, do I need to replace my Livestream embeds on my site?
Yes – we will not be able to redirect embedded Livestream events and videos to a Vimeo embed. You will need to replace the Livestream iframe code on your website with a Vimeo iframe. However, please note that your Livestream videos are copied to Vimeo so that current viewers are not disrupted. Learn how to get the embed code for your Vimeo events and your Vimeo videos.
Will analytics from my Livestream videos transfer to Vimeo?
No, any saved statistics or analytics on the Livestream platform cannot be transferred. Consider downloading any video metrics you’d like to retain before initiating your account migration.
How is Livestream Studio software impacted by the Livestream platform being deprecated?
Although livestream.com will no longer be accessible as of January 2025, Livestream Studio software is not being deprecated and will continue to receive updates.

- Ability to stream to Livestream.
- Ability to pull streams from Livestream events.
