This feature requires an Advanced or Premium plan, or an Enterprise account with the Events feature enabled.
After you create an event, you can customize the appearance and features available on the live event player. You can change these settings at any time and the changes will reflect on the player without needing to re-embed the player on your site.

How to customize the live event player
To customize the live event player:
- First, create your event or select an event from your library.
- In the left navigation menu, select Player, then Customize Player.
- A new page will open. Your settings will appear in the left side panel with a preview of your event’s player in the middle of the page. Configure each player setting as desired (more on which player settings you can change are discussed below).
- When you are done configuring player settings, click Save in the upper right corner to save your settings.
What features can I customize in the live event player?
Below are all the names and definitions of all the live player customization settings you can configure for any live broadcast or webinar.
- Before event: You can toggle on the following options to display in the player while your event is not live.
- Show recurring schedule: An overlay will appear in the lower-left corner of the player showing your event’s recurring scheduled time. If you don’t schedule a start time, the message will say “This event hasn’t started yet.”
- Show event schedule: The player will display the date and time of the next time your event is schedule to go live next in the middle of the player. If you don’t schedule a start time, the message will say “This event hasn’t started yet.”
- Show latest video: Displays the most recent event archive video, which viewers can watch, rather than the event thumbnail or event schedule.
- Playlist: The settings in this section are most relevant if your event is recurring.
- Playlist: Will display a list of all videos streamed to that event in the upper right corner. Note that this cannot be display at the same time as your profile details.
- Autoplay next video: Will automatically play the next video upon completion of the previous video in the event playlist.
- Loop playlist: Will automatically play the first video upon completion of the last video in the playlist.
- Play button: Settings for the play button on the live player.
- Position: Changes where the play button is displayed. If Auto is selected, the play button will be at the bottom if you have Show latest video selected, and move to the center when the event is live.
- Controls: These settings appear at the bottom of the player. The toggles determine whether or not viewers can access these controls on your event player.
- Progress bar: Shows the progress bar and allows viewers to scrub back if DVR is enabled.
- Volume: Allows viewers to adjust the player volume.
- Picture-in-picture: Allows viewers to see the event player while browsing other tabs.
- Full screen: Allows viewers to watch in full screen.
- Vimeo logo: Displays the Vimeo logo
- Customization: These settings allow you to adjust the appearance of elements on the player.
- Primary color: The main color of the elements on the player; is black by default.
- Accent color: The secondary color of elements on the player, such as the progress bar and hover states; is blue by default.
- Icon/text color: The color of icons and text on the player; is white by default.
- Thumbnail: Clicking on this allows you to upload a custom thumbnail to display when your event is not live.
- Custom logo: Allows you to select or upload a custom logo to display on the player in place of the Vimeo logo.
- Hide live label: Allows you to hide the red ‘Live’ label on the player when streaming.
- Hide viewer count: Allows you to hide the live viewer count on the player when streaming.
- Your details: You can choose which of your account or event details to overlay. Note that these cannot be displayed at the same time as the Playlist.
- Profile picture: Displays your Vimeo profile picture. This does not display unless you also toggle on Title
- Title: Displays your event title.
- Byline: Displays your Vimeo account name. This does not display unless you also toggle on Title.
