When you're watching videos on vimeo.com, you may see a Mature badge next to the video's title, right underneath the player. This badge appears because the creator has indicated that the video contains violence, nudity, profanity, and/or illegal substances. If you don't want mature videos to appear in your search results, you can filter them out.
If you are located in the United Kingdom or European Union and are not logged into a Vimeo account, you will be prompted to log in to watch an unrated video or a video rated Mature on vimeo.com.
Video overview
Here's a video overview of how to filter out mature content:
Filter out mature videos
You can filter out videos that contain mature or explicit material by following these steps:
- Navigate to the Viewing preferences tab in your Account Settings.
- Under the Mature content filter, choose between Show me everything, Don't show mature content, and Let me choose. If you select Let me choose, you can select specific types of content to filter, including unrated videos.
- Click Save. Videos with the rating you’ve chosen to filter out will no longer show up in your search results.
Note: If you come across a video that doesn't match your mature content settings, eg. in a group or channel, the thumbnail of the video will be replaced by a warning. You can either heed this warning or click Show me the video to hide the warning.
