This article will outline how you can watch a live event that’s hosted on Vimeo.com.
To watch a live event on Vimeo:
- Click on the Vimeo event link (this was likely provided by the event organizer) to open the event page in your browser.
- If you are on a desktop browser, you will see the below event page:
- If you are on a mobile device, you will see the below event page:
⚠️Note: If you are prompted to enter a password upon opening the event player or the chat embed window and you do not know the password, contact the event organizer.
- If you are on a desktop browser, you will see the below event page:
- The live player will be front and center. Note that it may display a message if the event host hasn’t started the stream yet.
- You may need to click or tap either the speaker icon on the playbar or an unmute prompt in the player in order to hear sound, as most browsers mute autoplay videos by default.
- If desired, click the circle in the lower right corner of the page to switch between light and dark mode.
Event hosts on Vimeo have the option to show or hide various engagement features that allow you and other viewers to interact with the event. These include chat, polls, and Q&A; clicking on their respective icons on the right side of the desktop page will open panels next to the player.
If you are viewing on mobile in portrait mode, these appear at the bottom of your screen
