If you are late to attend a live event, missed critical information, or need a break, you can use DVR to rewatch the live event while it is still streaming.
Note: This feature will not be available if the event host has turned off the DVR feature.
To watch an event using DVR:
- Go to the live event player.
- There are two ways you can view an earlier time of the live event:
- Use your cursor to click or scrub back to an earlier time on the player timeline.
- If the event has auto-generated captions, select the Transcript icon on the player to open the transcript drawer. Scroll back and click on the part of the transcript you want to watch. Playback will start from that time in the live event.
- When playback of the earlier content starts, you will see a Skip to live button on the top left corner of the player. Click this to jump to the currently live content.
Additional information:
- If you are watching a long event, you will only be able to scrub back to the most recent four hours of the live broadcast to watch in DVR mode. Contact the event organizer if you would like to see a recording of the full event after it ends.
- When you watch an event in DVR mode, you can adjust the playback speed by clicking on the gearwheel icon on the player and selecting Speed.
- If you select the speed to be slower, the player speed will reduce. After it adjusts the speed, you will see the Skip to live button.
- After you have scrubbed back, you can select the speed to be faster. It will revert to normal speed if you catch up to the live event’s current content.
- If you see a notification in the player that the live broadcast has ended while watching in DVR mode, you can continue watching the event so that you don’t miss the ending.
