If your Vimeo account is on a Starter, Standard, or Advanced plan, you are granted a set number of videos that you can add to your account. This allowance is based on which plan you are on, the number of seats on your account, and how long you remain on your paid plan. These plans do not limit you by upload quota, storage, or file sizes.

Video limit breakdown by plan
When you purchase a plan, you will receive a set amount of videos you can upload.
Video allowance is broken down as follows:
2 videos per month, 25 videos total lifetime limit
500 videos, unlimited live events and webinars
What is a “seat"?
A seat refers to an individual user with access to your account that you paid for and can assign to someone on your team who will actively be working on your Vimeo account. Specifically, Contributor and Admin roles count as seats.
Do team members share the video limit?
Yes. Your plan includes an allowance for uploading and creating videos that are shared with all your team members. The video allowance is at your account level which allows paid users on your account to upload or create videos up to the account limit.
Is there a limit to the number of seats I can add to my account?
If you are Starter, Standard, or Advanced, you can have up to 200 total seats added to your account, including viewers. For example, if you paid for 100 seats (Admins and Contributors) and also added 100 Viewers to your team, you would have reached your account’s seat limit.
If you are Enterprise, your contract with Vimeo will determine your account’s seat allowance.
What counts towards my account’s video limit?
Videos you upload and videos you make via Vimeo Create count towards your video cap. This also includes any videos that you copy, duplicate, and edit & save as a new video. This also includes videos uploaded via a third party such as Zoom and Dropbox.
Videos that you streamed (i.e. events) and recorded using Vimeo Record do not count towards your plan’s video allowance; recordings are unlimited for all plans, and events are unlimited for Advanced plans. Replacing a video also does not count towards your video usage limit.
When am I granted my video allowance?
Your video allowance is granted upfront for the entire billing cycle once your plan is purchased. The allowance is distributed across the whole team, meaning a single team member could upload enough videos to use up your entire allowance for the billing period.
How can I see how much video cap space I have remaining?
As the owner, you can go to Settings > Manage team > Billing and see all the details of your plan, including how many videos you’ve used compared to how many your account is entitled to for that billing period.
As an admin or contributor (as well as the owner), you can also track your video usage in the lower left corner of numerous pages on your account such as the library and upload page. You will see a warning message when you start to run low on video space.
Does my video allowance roll over at renewal?
Any remaining video cap space does not roll over when your plan renews. When your plan renews, you start over with your plan’s allowed video count for that billing period. In other words, your allowed video cap is “use it or lose it.”
Do you have storage capacity restrictions?
You're only subject to the number of videos you can host on Vimeo as part of your plan. However, there are no size limits for the video file.
How do I increase my video allowance?
If you need to upload or create additional videos on your account after reaching your plan’s video cap, you have the following options:
- You (the account owner) can upgrade to a higher tier.
You (the account owner) can purchase additional seats to increase your allowance. You will receive the full allotment of videos per your plan’s allowance.
- Example: If you are on the Starter plan and buy an additional seat, your account’s video cap will increase by 60 videos.
- Please note that additional seat purchases mid-cycle are not refundable.
- Wait until your plan renews and your video cap resets.
- You or your team members can delete any video(s) that were added within the last 24 hours of hitting your cap to open up more video space (consider downloading it first).
