This feature requires a paid plan on Vimeo.
Paid Vimeo members have the option to enable their videos for download. If you have a Basic or Free membership, your viewers cannot download your videos. If you upgrade to Starter or higher, the option for enabling downloads will be automatically turned on.
In addition, if you are a Basic or Free member, you cannot download your own videos from Vimeo unless you upgrade to Starter or higher. Any logged-in user can download videos that have been enabled to download by the video owner.
⚠️Note: It is not possible to bulk download videos from your Library. If you need help with multiple downloads, please contact support for assistance.

How can I download a video on vimeo.com?
To download a video, click the Download button below the video player on the video page.
Once you’ve clicked it, a small menu will appear where you’ll see links for several different versions of the video to select from.
Depending on your browser, clicking the link may result in the video playing in a new tab instead of downloading the file to your computer. If this occurs:
- For Windows users: Right-click on the link and choose Save as or Save target as.
- For Mac users: Hold down the Control key on your keyboard and click the link, then choose Save link as or Download linked file.
⚠️Note: If you are trying to download an On Demand video, refer to Rent, buy, or subscribe to On Demand videos.
I don't see a download button
First, make sure you are watching from the video's page on vimeo.com. If you are watching a video from the embedded player on a different website, you will not see the ability to download the video.
A video being available to download depends on the subscription tier of the video’s creator. Basic and Free members cannot enable their videos to be downloaded; however, if the video belongs to a paid subscriber, they have the option to toggle on the download option or choose to disable downloads. How can I download a video from my own account?
If you are the video owner or team member on a paid account, you will always have option to download your own videos on the main settings page.
- Go to your Library and select the video you would like to download.

Navigate to the down arrow ⌄ in the top left corner of the video settings page next to the video title and then select Download.
- Select the download icon next to the version you would like to save to your device.
