This feature requires an Advanced or Premium plan, or an Enterprise plan with the Events feature added.
You can simulcast your events from Vimeo to a LinkedIn profile or LinkedIn page, including scheduled events on LinkedIn. This article will walk through the requirements and steps for connecting to LinkedIn so that you can stream your Vimeo event to your LinkedIn audience.
Requirements for simulcasting to LinkedIn
- You must be the Vimeo account owner to set up the initial connection from Vimeo to LinkedIn. After the connection is made, a Vimeo account admin or contributor plus can configure any event on the Vimeo account to simulcast to that LinkedIn destination.
- If you want to stream to a company Page on LinkedIn, you must connect to the LinkedIn account of that page’s administrator.
- LinkedIn requires that you meet their Live Video Access Criteria to stream to LinkedIn.
Set up LinkedIn as a streaming destination
To connect your Vimeo account to LinkedIn and add it as a streaming destination:
- Create or navigate to your live event.
- In the top of the production tool, select the Settings gearwheel
- Open the Destinations panel.
- Select Connect next to LinkedIn.
- Log in to your LinkedIn account if necessary, and choose if you want to connect as a Member (to your own profile) or as an Admin (to your company page).
- Follow the onscreen prompts and allow the requested permissions to connect your Vimeo and LinkedIn accounts. Once connected, return to the event settings page on Vimeo.
- If you want to schedule the stream on LinkedIn so that your audience knows when you will go live, toggle on Schedule and set a start time and date for your event. Select Save.
- Ensure the toggle switch next to your preferred LinkedIn destination is on.
- When you’re ready, go live on Vimeo. Once live, your stream will automatically simulcast to LinkedIn (allow 20-30 seconds for the stream to appear). If you created or selected a scheduled event, the stream will appear in that event's post.
