How do I directly reply to questions in my event’s live Q&A session?

This feature is available on Advanced, Premium, and Enterprise accounts with the Events feature added.

Owners, Admins, and Contributor roles on your Vimeo account can reply in line to Q&A questions submitted through the Q&A engagement tool in events. Audience members can view the replies to their questions and other attendees' questions. This allows you to enhance the Q&A experience, and event engagement, and help viewers and broadcasters better understand the questions and topics of importance.

Direct replying is supported on all event types with Q&A, including venues, as well as with moderated Q&A sessions.

Replying to questions

You can reply to questions posed in the Q&A tool directly via text. To do so:

1. Select the question or the reply icon, found above the question on the right side of the Q&A panel.
2. Type your response into the reply field, then click the arrow button to post your reply.
    
   • ⚠️Note: For events with moderated Q&A, you can reply to approved questions as well as questions that are still pending approval. Replying to a pending question will also approve the question, making it visible to the audience.
     
3. The reply will be displayed for all audience members beneath the question.

Deleting responses

Currently, replies cannot be edited, but as an event organizer, you can make any changes by deleting the original reply and replying again. To delete your reply:

1. Hover over your answer.
2. Select the Delete icon in the upper right corner of your reply.
   
   

Viewing responses

Audience members can view organizers’ replies to questions directly within the Q&A panel. Replies are located below each question for easy access and understanding.

Additional information

• Both organizers and viewers can sort questions to easily find the newest, oldest, or most popular questions. Replies will also be visible when questions are sorted.
• At the end of a session, event organizers can easily export Q&A history for the session for record-keeping and analysis. The Q&A export includes both questions and answers.
