As of October 2025, the Studio Remote Camera application and Livestream Broadcaster device will no longer be supported as remote camera sources. We recommend using the alternatives listed on this page for your remote camera needs.
Livestream Studio provides multiple methods for bringing in a camera source over your local network or through other remote means. This article discusses the various remote camera input options available in Livestream Studio, including NewTek NDI, Mevo cameras, remote guests, RTMP server integration, and stream playback.
In this article:
NewTek NDI Inputs
Studio can accept any input that outputs a signal via NewTek's NDI protocol, such as PTZ cameras or computers with NewTek NDI tools installed to share screens. As long as both devices are on the same network, Studio can connect to the NDI source and use it as an input with very low latency.
Mevo Cameras
A Mevo camera can serve as a remote input in Studio via your local network. Connect the Mevo to your network, and it will appear as a remote camera option in Studio (as long as it isn't streaming or recording independently). You can then manage various Mevo options and settings directly within Studio.
Remote Guests
Share a URL with anyone worldwide to access their webcam and microphone through a desktop browser. Remote guests can also share their screens.
RTMP Server
Send a stream from a different encoder directly to Studio using an RTMP URL and Stream key given by Studio, effectively making Studio function as an RTMP server. This offers a convenient alternative to using mobile apps like StreamLabs to bring a device into Studio.
Stream Playback
Playback streams from other providers (latency varies).
