Vimeo provides Language Analytics to give you clear insights into how your translated content performs across every language you support. Language Analytics offers insights into how viewers interact with both AI-generated and manually uploaded translations, enabling you to measure and expand your international reach. This feature tracks how the viewers watch your content in different languages.

Language-specific metrics
To access the language-specific metrics, you can apply filters or secondary dimensions. This will update the report table to show the following language-specific metrics:
Views | The number of times a viewer has initiated playback on a video. |
Unique Views | The number of viewers who have played a video. Each viewer is counted once, even if they have played the video multiple times. |
Total time watched | Total time watched for a video, including repeat viewing of all or parts of the video. |
You will also be able to see your data breakdown by translation types: ‘Subtitles and captions’ or ‘Audio track’. For more information, see Can I add captions or subtitles to my videos?
⚠️Note: Translations marked with (AI) were generated by Vimeo AI Translations. All other subtitle, caption, and translation options are user-generated.

Comparing performance across languages and regions
To illustrate, consider a scenario where your video features multiple audio tracks: an English original, an AI-generated Spanish audio dub, and a manually uploaded French subtitle track. Using the new filters, you could:
- Identify the number of unique viewers who engaged with the AI-generated Spanish audio .
- Measure the total watch time generated by the manually uploaded French subtitles and compare it against the original English version.
- Combine language and region filters to analyze the performance of your Spanish audio dub in specific countries , such as Mexico or Spain.
