AI credits pay for AI-powered video translations, dubbing, live auto-captions, and live caption translations. This article explains how credits are consumed, when they expire, and how to purchase more.
How AI credits are used
AI credit usage depends on the feature:
- Subtitle translation only: 10 credits per minute of video per language.
- Audio and subtitle translation: 20 credits per minute of video per language.
- Live auto-captions: 10 credits per minute.
- Live caption translations: 20 credits per minute per language.
Translation costs are based on the video's full duration and the number of selected languages. Partial video translations are not supported.
Credit expiration and renewal
Expiration terms depend on your plan:
- Paid plans other than Enterprise: AI credits expire 30 days after they are granted and do not renew.
- Enterprise: AI credit allocations renew annually according to your account terms. Unused credits do not roll over unless your terms say otherwise.
One-time credit grants and gifts do not renew. Contact your Account Manager if you need help understanding your account’s terms.
Purchasing additional AI credits
- Paid plans other than Enterprise: You can purchase the exact number of credits needed during the video translation process. You cannot pre-purchase credit bundles.
- Enterprise: Contact your Account Manager to purchase additional credits.
Billing terms
- Refunds and transfers: AI credits are non-refundable and cannot be transferred between Vimeo accounts.
- Billing frequency: Purchased credits are charged using your default payment method according to the billing terms shown for your account.
- Receipts: Your AI credit purchase history and receipts are available in the Purchases tab of your account settings.
