Live auto-captions use AI credits. Your captioning experience does not change, but each minute of live auto-captioning consumes 10 AI credits.
What stays the same
- Auto-captioning works the same way in your live events.
- You do not need to enable or configure anything new.
- For accounts with annual caption-hour entitlements, the entitlement is converted into AI credits at the same rate.
How to avoid consuming credits
Automatic closed captions consume credits only when the Automatic closed captions toggle is on for an event under Optional features. Turn it off before going live if you do not want to use credits. For recurring events, update the setting on the event itself.
What happens if you run out of credits?
Your event continues running. Depending on your plan, you may be charged for additional usage or need to contact your Account Manager.
Where to see your usage
Enterprise account owners and admins can view organization-wide AI credit usage in the Organization Usage dashboard. Other paid accounts can view their available credits in the live event settings near the Automatic closed captions toggle.
