What to know before creating a video
Before you begin, take note of the following:
- Videos created with Vimeo cannot exceed 120 minutes in length if using the in-browser video editor.
- Videos created with the Vimeo Android app or the Vimeo iOS app cannot exceed 10 minutes.
- If you are a member of multiple teams or Workspaces, ensure that you are logged into the correct team or Workspace for which you have creator permissions.
- Creating a video in the video editor may or may not count against your account's quota or total storage.

How to create a new video using the video editor
You can start a new video project from your Vimeo homepage. To do so:
- From the Vimeo homepage, start a new project in one of two ways:
- Select + Create in the top navigation bar, then select Video project from the dropdown menu.
- Select Create new or from template from the quick start menu.
- Select + Create in the top navigation bar, then select Video project from the dropdown menu.
This will open a new project in the web-based video editor. From here, you can choose to build your video from scratch with media and design elements, or select a template. When saving a video, it will save to your Library.
