There are multiple ways to save your work while working in the editor. Auto-save will automatically save your video while you are editing. At any time, you can manually select Save to save your video. You can also use Save-As to save your video as a new video or template.

Auto-Save
Auto-save saves your video as you work in the editor to ensure that you don’t lose any of the changes that you make. If you leave the editor while in the middle of working on a video (ex: closing the browser), when you return, a prompt window will appear showing the option to recover the work from your last session.
Select Recover to recover your work and Discard to begin working from scratch.
⚠️Note: Auto-save will track changes made to a video per device. You need to manually select Save or Save-As to save your video to edit it on another device. For example, changes saved under auto-save while you were editing on your laptop will not automatically show up if you later edit your video on your mobile device unless you manually Save your video.
Working with Templates
This feature requires a Vimeo Enterprise account.
Auto-save also saves your work when you are working with templates. If you leave the editor while working with a template, when you return you’ll have the option to Recover your saved work on the template or to discard those changes and Start from Scratch.
Save
To save your video file after making changes in the editor, select Save.
💡Tip: Vimeo Enterprise users can also use the dropdown arrow next to the Save button to save a video as a Team Template.
Save As
While working on a video, you may decide to save a version as a separate file.
To save your project as another file:
- In the top-right corner of the editor, select the dropdown arrow next to the Save button.
- Select Save as new video.
- Type in the title of the new video and select Save.
- Both files will appear in your Library.
⚠️Note: A Save As file will count towards your video quota as it is a new video file.
