What to know before streaming a presentation or slideshow
- Slideshows are converted to static slides. Any animations or effects will be removed, and videos that are part of the slides will not be playable.
- You can upload presentations in .pdf and .pptx formats, up to 100MB.
- Live events created by Contributor Plus team members are stored in the user's Private folder and must be moved to a shared team folder to go live. Additionally, Contributor Plus members can only activate or deactivate the logos and backgrounds in a live event
How to stream a presentation or slideshow in the Web-based production tool
The web-based production tool features a Slides function, which lets you or a guest speaker upload slides and navigate through them during a presentation. To do so:
- Create your event or select it from your library.
- From the top ‘Go Live’ drop-down menu, choose to stream via your browser to open the web-based production tool.
- On the left side toolbar, select Media and the Slides header in the expanded Media panel.
- Select Upload to upload your presentation file.
- Once uploaded, hover over the presentation's thumbnail image on the media panel and select the plus sign to add it to a scene.
- Any speaker added to the scene can navigate through the slide deck using the arrows below the preview player.
Users added to the scene will appear in a picture-in-picture alongside the slide deck. You can hide them by turning off their video feed or selecting Controls > Hide speaker, or use the built-in screen-sharing feature to control the screen shared with your audience.
How to stream a presentation or slideshow in Livestream Studio
Livestream Studio offers a few methods to bring your presentation in as a source. To do so, you can use:
- Remote Guest (Recommended): Send an invite URL to the presenter to open in Google Chrome. They can select Share screen and choose their application window to replace their camera feed.
- HDMI or Screen Capture: You can connect the presenting computer via HDMI capture or use screen capture on a second monitor if the presentation is controlled from the Studio desktop.
After the presentation is added as an input, you can use the graphics overlay designer to create a picture-in-picture experience. Read more at How to build a Picture-in-Picture Graphic.
