Connect Vimeo to Marketo
For most account types, the Vimeo account owner can link external accounts to their Vimeo account. However, for Enterprise accounts with Workspaces, connections are specific to each user.
Before you connect, ensure the following are configured in your Marketo Programs:
- Only Programs that are the Types `Event` or `EventWithWebinar ` will be available in the list dropdown menu.
- The Programs listed must be set to the `Registered` status in order to receive submissions from Vimeo. This is a case-sensitive setting; “registered” will not work.
To connect Vimeo to Marketo:
- From the events manager, select your webinar to enter the webinar management page.
- Select the Registration option on the right side and then Customize form.
- Select Connect providers to open your account settings in a new window.
- Select Marketo and agree to the terms regarding how you will use the emails collected before continuing.
- Once connected, refresh the webinar management page. You can then choose your email list directly within your webinar’s registration settings.
Once you’ve connected to Marketo, you will be able to:
- See the registrant and their submitted information in your chosen Marketo list
- Review data indicating how engaged the attendee was with your event within Marketo
Add Marketo fields to your registration form
You can directly map your registration form fields to the custom fields within your Marketo account. To do this:
- Hover over any field and click the Tag icon
- Select the desired field from Marketo in the list that appears. You can use the arrows at the bottom of the panel to navigate between multiple pages.
- Click Add.
- Repeat this step for each form field.
Why you should enable the Vimeo - Marketo CRM integration
- The Vimeo-Marketo CRM integration helps you with lead evaluation
- This integration will also help you with attendee engagement analysis.
Analytics
Custom Fields will be created for Viewer Level Analytics passed from Vimeo. Those custom fields include:
-
-
Watch Time Percentage
-
Vimeo Events - QnA
-
Vimeo Events - Polls
-
The attendee status if they attended will also change to Attended Live
-
There is no need for the customer to create these fields as Vimeo creates them automatically on Marketo.
Pulling data for the analytics after the event ends will take 1-2 hours, pending completion of the event's transcoding.
Limitations of Marketo Integration
-
Data sync
- When syncing data from Marketo to Vimeo, CRM data will first start syncing at midnight in your webinar timezone. Then, it will continue to sync one hour before the start time, and every 15 minutes from the time the webinar begins. CRM data will stop syncing when the webinar ends or exceeds two hours. Therefore, last-minute arrivals registered on their Marketo form may not be reflected in the platform.
- Viewer-level analytics sync when you manually complete the webinar or one hour after it autocompletes (this occurs when Vimeo completes the webinar without your manual completion). Analytics syncs every five minutes; it should finish syncing after 25 minutes.
-
Already registered
- Currently, if an attendee registers through a Marketo form, the integration cannot identify whether they’ve registered. Even if the webinar hosts import the Marketo list, attendees will still need to sign in with their email when they click on "Already registered."
-
Registration form
- You will be unable to turn off the Vimeo registration form, so even if you use the Marketo form for registration, attendees will still have to sign in through the Vimeo registration form in order to opt in to Vimeo’s terms and conditions.
- We currently support field mapping to Marketo, including custom fields. However, on the registration tab, you will have to manually label the registration field to the Marketo field.
- Vimeo connects to an Event Program/list in Marketo and adds people/members accordingly. It will append to existing people (based on email address), or create new people if unique.
- We pull lists/programs that were edited/created within the ~last 30 days.
- We only support static lists, not smart lists.
