Google Tag Manager is a tag management system (TMS) that allows you to quickly and easily update measurement codes and related code fragments collectively known as tags on your website or mobile app. It allows you to manage third-party tags in the same place as your Google tags. This article discusses how to add Google Tag Manager ID to your OTT site.
How do I add a Google Tag Manager ID?
If you are an Enterprise seller on Vimeo OTT, you can add tags and triggers for tracking various activities across your site without needing to add code to be deployed to your site using Google Tag Manager (GTM).
Adding the tag will automatically add your GTM container to the site which will begin tracking data immediately. Similar to other tracking on Vimeo OTT sites, this will be disabled for sellers that are Made For Kids and customers who have requested that they not be tracked per GDPR regulations.
Once you set up Google Tag Manager, go to the Workspace section of your Tag Manager to find your container ID (it will look like "GTM-XXXXXXX").
💡Tip: If you have issues setting up GTM, consider installing the Google Tag Assistant extension, which can help you troubleshoot the issue. If you see a 404 error, make sure your container is published even if there is nothing published within it yet.
In your OTT site admin, navigate to Manage > Site.
Select the Tracking tab. Paste your ID under Google Tag Manager Container ID. Be sure to save your settings.
You can only add a single GTM Container ID, as Google recommends only using one container per web domain. If you feel you need more, reach out to your account manager.
