This feature requires an Enterprise plan.
A highlight reel is a short recap or a series of video moments that Vimeo AI creates from a longer AI-eligible video, based on a text prompt you provide.
This article explains how to use Vimeo AI to create a highlight reel for your video. Team members on select Vimeo Enterprise plans can access this feature once the team Owner activates it.
For Enterprise Users with Workspaces: This feature can be managed by a Workspace Admin for videos uploaded to the Workspace. For additional information, visit 'How to edit my Workspace's settings'.
To use Vimeo AI to generate a highlight reel:
- Select the Vimeo AI sparkles button from the left-side toolbar of the video settings page.
- Select Generate highlights.
- In the prompt box, describe the highlight reel you'd like Vimeo AI to create. The box rotates through example prompts for inspiration, such as:
- "Create a 30-second summary of the video using the best moments."
- "Turn this video into a short recap with the top business takeaways."
- "Find the strongest quotes and supporting moments for a testimonial clip."
- Select Generate highlight reel. This button stays greyed out until you enter a prompt, so a prompt is required to generate a highlight reel.
- Vimeo AI creates a highlight reel based on your prompt. You'll see status updates while it works, until your highlight reel is ready.
- Preview the highlight reel. From there, you can Save as a new video or Copy link to share it.
- To refine the result, use Ask for edits to request changes (for example, "make it shorter" or "focus on the customer testimonial"), or select Clear chat to start over with a new prompt.
- Once saved as a new video, your highlight reel can be further customized using the Editor.
