The ability to enable this feature is for Account Owners/Admins on select Vimeo Enterprise plans. Please contact your account manager to get access to the feature. The ability to use Ask AI is available to all viewers on AI-eligible videos when the feature is enabled.
Viewers can ask questions and find answers on AI-eligible videos using Ask Vimeo AI.
Viewers can determine which videos support questions and answers if the video has the Vimeo AI button .

How can I enable Ask AI on videos I upload?
Account Owners/Admins on select Vimeo Enterprise plans can enable Ask AI on the team-settings page. Learn more at ‘How can I enable or disable Vimeo AI settings for my team account?’.
Ask AI can be enabled on AI-eligible videos under 45 minutes long.
If you are on a Vimeo Enterprise plan and would like to use Ask AI, please contact your account manager to get access to the feature.
All viewers, regardless of plan type, can use Ask AI on videos once this feature is enabled.
How do I use Ask AI on a video on Vimeo.com?
All viewers can use Ask AI on videos where the feature is enabled. Viewers that are logged in to Vimeo.com will be able to type in custom questions. Viewers that are not logged in will be limited to selecting pre-generated questions.
To use Ask AI on a video on Vimeo:
- Under the video player of eligible videos, select the Vimeo AI button

In the questions and answers box, select from a pre-generated question. You may have to wait a couple of moments for Ask AI to activate.
💡Tip: If you are logged into Vimeo, you can also ask a question by typing it in the text box. Select Enter on your keyboard to submit the question.

Vimeo AI will generate the answer to your question if available. Select the play button under the generated answer to jump to the point in the video where the answer is given.
How do I use Ask AI on an embedded video?
If a video uploaded to Vimeo is embedded on another site and the video has Ask AI enabled, viewers will be able to ask questions about the video.
To ask a question in an embedded video.
- Hover over the video player and select the Ask Vimeo AI sparkles button
.
- Select a question from the expanded panel or ask your own question about the video.
- After the answer to your question is generated, select the play button under the answer to play the moment in the video that discusses the answer.
What if a question cannot be answered in a video?
If an answer cannot be found in the video, the AI will respond with one of the following messages:
- Unfortunately, I can’t answer your question because your video transcript doesn’t have enough information.
- I don’t understand your question. Can you provide more detail?
- Unfortunately, I can’t help you with this type of action yet. Feel free to ask me a different question.
- Unfortunately, I can’t answer this type of question yet.
What if a video does not have the AI sparkles button?
If a video does not have the Vimeo AI sparkles button under the player or in the top-right corner of the player, it is not possible to use Vimeo AI to ask the video a question. The owner of the video may have disabled AI for viewers.
