Remote Guests lets you join a Live Event using your webcam or desktop source from a location different from the event host's. This article explains how to join a live event as a Remote Guest and how to use the guest interface.

What to know before joining a live event as a Remote Guest
Before joining a live event as a remote guest, note the following:
- The host of the live event will provide you with a link to join as a Remote Guest.
- Please contact the host of the live event if you need the link once more. Our support team cannot provide you with a new link.
- Google Chrome is required to join as a Remote Guest.
- View our hardware and network recommendations for Remote Guests.
- A Vimeo account is not required to join a live event as a Remote Guest.
- A Vimeo account with an Advanced, Premium, or Enterprise (with Events) plan is needed to host a live event.
How to join a live event as a Remote Guest
You can join a live event as a Remote Guest using Google Chrome and the link provided to you by the event host. To do so:
- Open the link provided by the host in Google Chrome.
- If this is your first time doing so, allow Chrome permission to access your camera and microphone when prompted.
- Read how from Google Chrome support at Use your camera and microphone in Chrome.
- Enter your name and select Join Event.
Once connected, you will see your camera feed in the bottom-right corner, see the Broadcast Preview, and hear the event audio.
How to use guest controls as a Remote Guest
While in the event, you have access to the following controls:
- Share screen: Select the Share screen button to share your desktop, application window, or Chrome tab instead of your webcam.
- Chat: Select the arrow in the upper-right corner to open the internal chat with the host and other guests.
- Stop Video: Stops sending your video feed but keeps audio active.
- Mute: Mutes your microphone.
- Settings: Allows you to select a different webcam or audio source.
- Leave: Disconnects you from the event.
