How to fix browser permissions for Remote Guests
Browsers request permission to access the camera and microphone when the guest lobby page is opened for the first time. If these were initially denied, you must manually enable them.
Google Chrome is required to use the Remote Guest feature. Learn how to allow permissions from Google Chrome support at Use your camera and microphone in Chrome.
How to configure network firewalls for Remote Guests
If you are on a corporate network (e.g., an office or school), your IT team may need to open specific ports to allow incoming and outgoing communication, in addition to the standard ports we recommend. Ensure the following ports are open for WebRTC signaling and discovery:
- TCP 3478
- TCP 19305
- TCP 19307
- TCP 443
To test whether the issue is network-related, connect the computer to another network (e.g., a mobile hotspot). If the webcam video appears, the original network is blocking the signal.
