AI analytics lets you describe the chart you want in natural language and generate a widget that answers your question. Vimeo AI inspects the available metrics, dimensions, and filters, and generates a widget that answers your question.
Note: This feature is an add-on, available to all Enterprise customers. Contact your account manager for full access.
Where to find AI analytics
The Custom Analytics section is a persistent, user-owned dashboard of AI-generated widgets, alongside the existing fixed reports.
You can open it from:
- The Custom Analytics section, which is chat-first.
- A prompt entry point directly on the dashboard.
- A release announcement popup that appears for discovery.
How to build a widget
- Type a prompt describing the chart you want.
- The result appears first as a modal preview. It is not persisted.
- Select Add to dashboard to keep the widget. Closing the modal without adding saves nothing.
What you can do with a widget
- Expand it to a full view.
- Change its timeframe.
- Export it as CSV.
- Add it to or remove it from the dashboard.
- Edit its auto-generated name.
Guardrails and limits
- Each widget shows its own timeframe.
- A dashboard holds up to 20 widgets.
- The maximum timeframe is 30 days.
Available data
The available metrics are the same as the current analytics dashboards. AI analytics combines metrics, filters, grouping, and sorting into new charts that the existing dashboards do not support, all using natural language. The source datasets are:
- Sessions (default): dimensions such as video, country, region, city, embed domain, embed domain path, device type, OS, browser, streaming type, and text and audio track language, type, and provenance. Metrics include views, impressions, finishes, downloads, unique viewers, engaged views, mean percent watched, mean seconds watched, total seconds watched, completions, and interactive metrics such as polls, hotspots, and ratings.
- Bandwidth: combined, video, and live bandwidth, per video or total.
- Teams (Enterprise): impressions, views, finishes, total seconds watched, mean percent watched, mean seconds watched, unique videos, unique members, completions, net time completed, net percentage completed, and viewed segments.
- Retention: viewer retention and normalized viewer retention for a single video.
AI analytics currently cannot pull data on videos by tag or by a keyword in the title, because that information is not part of the analytics data. Analytics are per team, not per individual user, even when SSO is enabled. The team datasets do allow attribution of certain metrics to team members.
