This feature is available for all Vimeo accounts.
Embedding lets your video play on other websites. You can turn embedding on or off for individual videos, for videos as you upload them, or for all your videos at once.
Your embed settings also affect your storage. Public videos with embedding turned off are unlimited on every plan. Embeddable videos count towards your Managed storage.

How to change a video’s embed settings
- Log in to Vimeo and navigate to your Library.
- Select your video to open the video settings page.
- On the upper right-hand side of the page, select the Share button.
- A new panel will open on the right side. Under Privacy, select the Embeddable toggle to turn embedding on or off. You can also find this toggle at the top of the Embed panel. Turning it off is the same as setting Where can this be embedded? to Nowhere, and turning it back on sets it to Anywhere.
How to change embed settings when uploading
When your upload finishes, the upload panel shows privacy and embed settings for the videos you’ve just uploaded.
- Select the Embeddable toggle to turn embedding on or off.
- This setting applies to all videos in that upload.
How to change embed settings for all your videos
You can set whether new uploads are embeddable by default, and apply that setting to all your existing videos.
- Open the Share panel on any video, and select Manage defaults next to Privacy. You can also go to Upload defaults in your account settings.
- Under Where can your videos be embedded?, choose Anywhere or Only sites I choose (available on Core and above) to make your videos embeddable, or Nowhere to turn embedding off.
- To change all the videos you’ve already uploaded, check Also apply to all existing videos.
- Select Save.
How do embed settings affect my storage?
If a video is set to Public with embedding turned off, it doesn’t count towards your Managed storage. You’ll see a confirmation message in the Share panel.
If you turn embedding on, or change the video’s privacy to anything other than Public, the video counts towards your Managed storage. This includes videos that can only be embedded on specific domains. You’ll then see your managed storage usage in the Share panel.
