What is the Free plan on Vimeo?
The Free plan is unpaid and offers access to a wide range of Vimeo tools and features. Only one seat is available for Free plans assigned to you (the account Owner).
What's included in the Free plan?
The Free plan includes:
- No ads before, after, or on your video
- 4K, HDR, & Dolby Vision support
- Playback speed controls
- Video-making & editing tools, including templates, add text and sticker animations and trimming tools
- New: The option to turn off the "Created with Vimeo" watermark on videos you export from the editor
- Screen and webcam recordings up to 30 minutes each
- GIF maker and embed GIFs in the email (Gmail only)
- New: AI transcription, subtitle translation, and AI-generated video details
- New: Transcripts, automatic closed captions, and chapters

How many videos can I upload or create on a Free plan?
When you create a Free account, you may upload or create an unlimited amount of public and non-embeddable video content. Embeddable and non-public videos are limited to 3 GB. You can see what counts as embeddable and non-public here.
Free accounts also include 1 TB of bandwidth per month, which resets at the start of each billing month. Bandwidth for public and non-embeddable videos is unlimited.
⚠️ Note: If you created your Vimeo account before June 17, 2024, you may have different video storage limitations on the Free plan. Check your sign-up date in the upper left-hand corner of your account settings or the lower left corner of your homepage or library to track your available video storage.
Once you reach the 3 GB limit for non-public videos, you can upgrade your account to embed or privately host more.
⚠️Note: New recordings you create with Vimeo Record count toward the storage limit that applies to your account. Recordings created before this change remain exempt.
Will my Free plan ever expire?
A free plan on Vimeo stays free forever. If you follow our guidelines and log in periodically, your account will remain active.
We consider accounts not used for a full year inactive and reserve the right to remove inactive accounts.
We'll notify you in advance if your account is in danger of deletion due to inactivity and you'll have an opportunity to reactivate it.
