Vimeo supports two-factor authentication (2FA) in order to provide an additional layer of security to your account. We recommend enabling 2FA by either setting up an authenticator app or using your email to retrieve a security code when you log in. Although it’s best to keep 2FA enabled, this article also includes steps for deactivating it within your security settings.
💡Tip: You need to log into your Vimeo account to access the security settings links outlined in this article. If you are unable to access into your Vimeo account, visit 'I can't access my account'. If you are locked out of your account after too many 2FA attempts, read below at 'I am locked out of my account after too many attempts'.

Why am I not receiving the 2FA code?
Your email program may have either marked them as spam or isn’t accepting them. You may need to whitelist @vimeo.com as a safe sender in your email program. Once you have cleared up the issue, go ahead and request a new email. If you find our messages in your spam filter, simply whitelist the message afterward and you should be set. If the issue persists, contact us.
I am locked out of my account after too many attempts
As a security precaution, we temporarily block users who have a series of failed login attempts. Just wait for 15 minutes and you should be able to get back in.
Please note that if you continue to make attempts to log in while the account is blocked, the system will restart the 15-minute wait each time. Also, resetting the password will not expedite the process of accessing your account.
If you’re still seeing the message after 15 minutes have passed, please contact us
