If you watch a video embedded outside of vimeo.com, your Vimeo account settings will not be reflected in the player. The embedded player detects the language settings configured in your browser to customize your experience.
See below for how to update your preferred language in certain browsers:
- Change the language of your Chrome browser
- Change the language your Mac uses (Safari)
- Use Firefox in another language
- Use Microsoft Edge in another language
The language configured in your browser will impact text within the player. The setting menus will be translated, however, text from the video or interactive features will not be impacted.
As a video creator, you can build interactive and lead-capture tools in native languages. Our captions can also be configured in a wide range of available languages in addition to the localization that occurs within the player itself.
