What are Content Ratings?
Content ratings are labels that inform viewers whether your content contains mature content or advertising.

- We ask that you rate all your videos and live events to inform viewers about any content that may include nudity, violence, profanity, or illegal substances. If your video contains any of these elements, it should be rated for Mature Audiences.

Advertisements
- An advertisement is defined as any content meant to influence a viewer's choice or opinion about a product or service. Even if you're uploading content to showcase your portfolio, you must mark it as containing an advertisement if it was made for that purpose.
- As a video-sharing platform, we are legally required to ask users to declare whether a video they upload contains an advertisement. This ensures that anyone watching the footage knows they are being exposed to this type of content.

Why should I rate my content?

What happens if I misrate my video?
If a Vimeo moderator finds a misrated video, the rating may be changed and locked. If we believe that you're intentionally misrating your videos to shock or confuse people, your account may be restricted or closed.
