This feature requires a Business, Premium, Advanced, or Enterprise membership.
With this feature, you have access to a suite of video interaction tools, including the ability to capture a viewer’s email and other details using contact forms. Contact forms can help you generate a pipeline of qualified leads. You can set up the contact form screen to appear before, during, or after your embedded videos including videos in Showcases. You can then download the viewer inputted information, or sync it to your email service provider (e.g., MailChimp).
If you're a Basic, Plus, Pro, Free, or Starter member, you'll need to upgrade to Vimeo Business, Premium, Advanced, or Enterprise to unlock contact forms for the embedded player.

Setting up a contact form
- To enable contact forms for one of your embedded videos, go to the Interactivity tab in your video’s settings and select Forms to open the Contact form.
- From there, you can choose to enable contact forms before, during, or after your video.
- If you choose to display the screen before or during your video, you will have the option to allow or prevent viewers from skipping the contact form screen.
-
You can also connect your form directly to one or more of the supported email marketing platforms we partner with, by clicking the Connect button under the section showing the icons of the Email providers.
⚠️Note: While Marketo will be listed as an option in account settings, be advised that we currently only support integrating with Marketo for Webinars and not for uploaded videos.
- After selecting a platform to connect to, you will be prompted to accept the following terms:
- I will only use collected email addresses for marketing purposes.
- I will not share these email addresses with others.
- I will comply with CAN-SPAM, CASL, and any other applicable laws.
- I will provide an unsubscribe mechanism and comply promptly with opt-out requests.
- After agreeing to the terms and conditions, you will be able to log into your account with the other program and connect it to your Vimeo account.
- Once you’ve connected your accounts, be sure to select at least one mailing list to sync any collected information with and press Apply to save your changes.
- When creating your form, you have the option to add a custom message, up to 100 characters in length, that will display along with the contact fields. Submitting an email address will always be required. You can make other fields, such as first name and last name, required by checking the box labeled Required.
⚠️Note: If you haven’t already set up mailing lists that you can connect to, you’ll need to navigate to your email provider’s site to set up a mailing list.
Important: Remember that these changes will only be reflected when your video is embedded on another web page and on-site if your video is set to Unlisted. Public and password-protected video pages on vimeo.com will use default appearance settings. - When your viewers are submitting their information, a progress bar at the bottom of the contact form screen will let them know how many steps they’ve completed and how much further they have to go before the final submission screen. Once they’ve pressed the blue Submit button, a 3-second countdown to the start of the video will commence. This countdown will appear automatically in the upper right corner of the player.
Contact form specifications
- You can add up to 20 custom fields when setting up your contact form. Your viewers can input an answer up to 50 characters in length per field.
- You can only set up one contact form screen per video. For example, if you’ve already chosen to display the contact form screen before your video, you’ll no longer see the options to display it during or after in your Interaction tools settings. If you would prefer the form to appear during or after your video, you can always edit your options by clicking the pencil icon.
- You can upload custom logos to your contact form as well. To switch between your logos, click the small left and right arrow buttons to toggle between your uploads. You can preview how each logo appears in the player on the right side of the screen.
-
You can also add the URL for your Privacy policy to your contact form. The policy must be a URL and is usually hosted on your own site. You’ll be able to read Vimeo’s own Privacy policy pop-up if you press the clickable Info icon.
- Please note that in compliance with their policies, contact forms are not supported on Facebook or Twitter.
Contact forms for virtual events
Recurring virtual events currently do not include the ability to implement contact forms or email capture for the broadcast. Webinars will have access to contact forms.
All archived virtual events (i.e. after you end your stream) include contact forms in the advanced video interaction settings as described above.
Engagement analytics for contact form
From the analytics panel on the video page, you can check the number of times the contact form screen has been seen and the number of form submissions submitted for the past 30 days. You can also download your submissions here. Learn more about engagement tools here.
Download form submissions across all videos as a CSV
On the Marketing tab of your Account Settings, you can download a CSV of all the information captured through your embedded videos. The CSV contains the name (if provided), video ID, domain, and date captured associated with each email address.
To download the CSV, click the button below the “Download form submissions” heading. The first time you download the CSV, you will be prompted to accept the following terms:
- I will only use collected email addresses for marketing purposes.
- I will not share these email addresses with others.
- I will comply with CAN-SPAM, CASL, and any other applicable laws.
- I will provide an unsubscribe mechanism and comply promptly with opt-out requests.
Once you accept, the CSV will download to your device.
Download form submissions for an individual video
To download submissions from an individual video, go to your Library, select the video, then go to its Interactivity tab, select Forms, and beside the Contact form header, click the download icon to download a CSV of all submitted information.
Syncing contact form submissions with an email service provider
You can automatically sync captured information with your email service provider (ESP) on the Marketing tab of your Account Settings page. Please note that in order for information to be synced, users need to input both their first and last names in the contact form submission fields. Keep this in mind when setting up your required fields.
To connect your Vimeo account with your ESP — Mailchimp, Constant Contact, HubSpot, Campaign Monitor, or Keap, previously known as Infusionsoft — go to the Marketing tab of your Account Settings and click the blue “Connect” button next to its name. You will be prompted to accept the following terms:
- I will only use collected email addresses for marketing purposes.
- I will not share these email addresses with others.
- I will comply with CAN-SPAM, CASL, and any other applicable laws.
- I will provide an unsubscribe mechanism and comply promptly with opt-out requests.
After accepting the terms, you’ll see a pop-up window where you can log in to your email service provider. Once you’ve successfully logged in, select the list (or tag, in the case of Keap) where you want the information captured by Vimeo to be sent, and then click the Sync button. Your email service provider is now connected. The Marketing tab of your Account Settings should display the name of the list synced with Vimeo.
To disconnect your email service provider from Vimeo, hover over the green Connected button and click to disconnect.
Why is my contact form not displaying?
Contact forms are only available on web browsers. Users viewing a video through the Vimeo mobile application will not see contact forms at the start of a video. Contact forms do, however, appear on mobile versions of browsers like Chrome and Safari.
How can I delete a contact form?
If you would like to remove a contact form from your video, follow the steps below:
- Go to the Interactivity tab in your video’s settings and select Forms to open the Contact form.
- Scroll down until you see the option to Delete form.
- Select Delete form. Your changes will be saved automatically.
