This article discusses how to edit videos on Vimeo, even if they weren't originally created using Vimeo's video editor, including guidance on modifying videos presented as a single scene. Note that time limitations may apply, depending on your account type. Read more at ‘About Vimeo Plans’.
To modify a video not created in the video editor:
- Select your video from your personal or team Library. Team members with modification rights will be able to edit videos. Learn about team member types at About team member types
- On the video settings page, select the Editing button on the left of the video represented by a pair of scissors.

Select Video Editor to open the video in the video editor.
- Your video will open in the video editor as a single scene. Use the split and trim tools in the video editor to divide it into multiple scenes.
⚠️Note: Videos not originally made with the video editor on Vimeo will appear as a single scene when opened in the video editor. You can split this single scene into multiple scenes using the split and trim tools. Learn how at ‘How to use the Timeline in the video editor
