How can I customize the mobile teleprompter?

This feature is available on the Vimeo app for Android and iOS. 

After you’ve created your mobile teleprompter, you can customize the following features:

Timer:

You can set a countdown timer to help you prepare to deliver your script of either 3 seconds or 10 seconds. 

To set the countdown timer on your teleprompter: 

  1. Select Timer.
  2. Select your countdown timer between 3 seconds, 10 seconds, or no countdown timer.
    The 'Timer' button can be found on the clip for the teleprompter at the top-left of the screen. It is represented by an icon with a clock and the label 'Timer'. When selected, a menu opens at the bottom labeled 'Timer'. The options in the Timer menu are 'None', '3 seconds', and '10 seconds'.
  3. This will display a countdown on the record screen to help you prepare to record your video. Your clip will begin recording at the end of the countdown.

Font size:

You can set the size of the font of your script to help make it more visible on your device. 

To change the size of the font of your script: 

  1. Select Font size 
  2. Use the slider to make the font size larger or smaller.
    The 'Font-Size' button can be found on the left of the screen on a clip. It is represented by an icon with a capital and lowercase 'A' and the label 'Font Size'. Selecting that button expands a menu at the bottom of the screen labeled 'Font Size'. There is a slider that you can select and slide to the left and right to decrease or increase the size of the font on the teleprompter. Above the slider is the size of the font in percentage.

Set scrolling speed:

You can change the speed at which your text will scroll up your screen, allowing you to follow along at a pace that’s comfortable for you. The text will continue to auto loop during each clip. 

To set the speed of your teleprompter: 

  1. Select Speed
  2. Use the slider to adjust the speed of your teleprompter, making it scroll faster or slower up your screen.
    The 'Speed' button can be found on the left of the screen on a clip. It is represented by an icon with a speedometer and the label 'Speed'. When selected, the button expands a menu at the bottom of the screen labeled 'Speed'. There is a slider that you can select and slide to the left and right to decrease or increase the speed the font scrolls on the teleprompter. Above the slider is the scroll speed in percentage.

Background opacity: 

You can adjust the opacity of your teleprompter to help you see your text more clearly. This will add a black overlay to your video to make the script more visible. 

To adjust the background opacity of teleprompter: 

  1. Select Background.
  2. Use the slider to adjust the background opacity, saturating or desaturating the background of the teleprompter of your clip.
    The 'Background' button can be found on the left of the screen on a clip. It is represented by an icon with a square with diagonal lines in it and the label 'Background'. When selected, the button expands a menu at the bottom of the screen labeled 'Background'. There is a slider that you can select and slide to the left and right to decrease or increase the opacity of the black background on the teleprompter. Above the slider is the opacity in percentage.
